Morio is a computer solution with a GPS tracker for bicycles.
Completely hidden in the bike, this is the solution to secure your professional fleet of power-assisted bicycles. The technology used in this solution was rich and varied (Sigfox, BLE, LTE).
Brief & Context
All bicycle owners who have already experienced a theft of their vehicle will be able to find their way there.
In despair, they travel the surrounding area in search of their bikes, hoping to find their way back to it. They then ask the neighbors or passers-by they meet and often end up hoping that he will reappear on an ad site in order to report it to the police.
An adviser for the beginning
With this in mind, our customer Morio asked us to create the entire software solution, which could be used when purchasing their new generation GPS tracker.
The project began with a reflection on the flagship features to be highlighted.
It was then developed in two stages:
- Mobile application: a native mobile application development under iOS and Android allowing the use and update of the tracker.
- Web application: a development of a responsive website allowing the use of data reported by the GPS tracker.
Released in the summer of 2017, the application quickly met with the success it deserved: many companies equipped with a fleet of bicycles have already adopted the Morio solution.
How does Morio work?
API
An API - developed with Python with Flask framework - has been set up to ensure a good data delivery (centralized in a single database). It also allows easy communication with the network for IOT: Sigfox. Its role does not stop there, it also sends all push notifications to mobile applications. Finally, it allows to distribute firmware updates to Morio plotters.
Web application
The Web application - developed under Angular - allows anyone with a Morio plotter to add it to their account and exploit their data. The simple and refined interface emphasizes visual pragmatic design: a geographical map and the location of its plotters.
Mobile application
The mobile application - developed respectively in Java for Android and Swift for iOS - offers the same features as the web application and even more... Indeed, you can update the Morio plotter (its firmware) directly by Bluetooth using BLE technology. In addition, push notifications will alert you at your will of any suspicious event.
